Business plan development

A company with prospective environment-related technology was seeking for a new business possibility. We suggested they should apply for a NEDO scheme, a government-run project for new energy development.
We worked with our client in drafting the application of a new environmental project. The applied project received a high evaluation and passed the last stage of the screening.

Business revitalization

A textile manufacturer asked for our advice about how to revitalize a department with low profit and turn it around to a better performing business.
We conducted SWOT analysis of its activities and built up a revitalization plan for our client.
The plan was accepted by the department and the strategy was agreed upon for practice by the client’s board.

Plan for a new line of business

A visual testing equipment manufacturer, with its 3-year strategy of multiplying sales, asked us advice in starting up new line of business. We first made X-axis, Y-axis analysis to position the business in the market, using every possible combination of data and cases, focusing on what business risks their clients would face if they miss the right inspection of their products.
After a series of advice, our client became aware that, using their first rate technology, they could expand their business to security and service industry. Now they are on it.

Business planning for mid-term

We also helped the above company with making plans for their mid-term, following the framework of business planning. We built a system and an organization to install PDCA Cycle and assisted the staff managing the cycle.

Partnership strategy development

A Japanese company in the food industry needed our help considering partnership with a foreign brand to produce and distribute products in Japan with the foreign brand name.
We developed hypotheses about opportunity and threat the sought partnership might bring to our client and develop strategy to maximize opportunity and minimize threat.
Our client decided moving on to partnership with the brand.

Entering Japanese market

A US system vendor was seeking to start business in Japan.
We introduced such Japanese companies as would complement the client’s resource in entering the Japanese market, helped develop strategies of joint venture, and helped start up in Japan.
The client chose a company for negotiation for partnership.

Establishing overseas presence

A Japanese software company, planning to enter overseas market, asked us advice in how to establish a presence and business network there.
We suggested they should establish a US branch or a US corporate, and introduced them several potential companies to become their partners. We accompanied our client periodically to the US and attended meetings and helped them build business network there.

Sales & Marketing

An overseas apparel company wanted to expand its sport-wear department in sales volume and profit. Our advisors in EBRD EGP (Enterprise Growth Programme) visited the company and gave the company management advices on management control, production/quality control and chain-shop expansion. They suggested the management the shops façade and display be improved and new retail shops started with flag shop be opened. The sales of the department, since, have been contributing to the company’s sales and profit.

Business expansion over the borders

We suggested to our long time client, a foreign electric devices maker, that technical association with Japanese counterparts be essential for enhancing their performance.
We introduced them the top Japanese company in the business and assisted the managements in the meetings. We also assisted them building a logistic network.
The two companies signed partnership agreement and have been successful building a Win-Win relationship. The partnership expanded business opportunity for both parties.

Management assistance

A foreign joint venture in the textile business asked us assistance in the production management and sales management. The country is a producer of organic cotton.
One of our consultants stayed at the client for a couple of years, and worked developing new products, installing a seamless production system and promoting export sales.
Thus, their improved supply system of clothes pushed up the company revenue. The company was awarded by the Export Promotion Council for its contribution to export.

Corporate management support
Internal Audit

With respect to the internal audit capacity building support project that our country has made to a governmental agency in a developing country, we received a request to evaluate the results of the project.
After having collected information and materials about the project and considered the research plan and policies while in Japan, we understood the current situation of internal audit and reported it through consultations with the counterpart institutions taking part in the study and evaluation team in the country.
Minutes of meetings has been exchanged and signed based on the survey results, having a start of the next phase of the technical cooperation project in perspective.

Fair Competition Environment Improvement

In developing countries, it is one of the challenging issues to prevail fair competition environment in market economy system that is newly adopted.
Support for system development and educational activities concerning fair competition was requested to our country’s institution, and we received a request for assistance in planning survey of the project.
As a member of the planning study team, we conducted the study of the local information and the current situation, and provided support in reporting.
The findings will be reflected in the implementation of the technical cooperation project in the future.

Implementation of PDCA Cycle

An inspection device maker asked us to provide them assistance in building up operating structure for implementing PDCA cycle. We called periodical management meetings to discuss growth strategy and action plans. There we lead the company management to be more committed in building strategy over a longer period, in keeping track of progress of the plan and in taking necessary actions.

Education / Training

We have provided entrepreneurs, company management and staff, students and post graduates with seminars and lectures at JICA HRD Centers. 
The areas of education/training are Business Planning, Strategic management, Marketing, Production and Quality Management, Financial Management, Managerial Accounting. Also included is on-site advice at the local companies.
Besides, we have been committed in technology transfer to the project counterparts in such projects as below:

Research
RosettaNet ROI Study

RosettaNet Japan is the only affiliate of RosettaNet Global in Japan, promoting RosettaNet standard in its effort to establish a global standard for SCM.
Truspire conducted a survey on ROI of RosettaNet standards implementation by focusing on the business strategies of each company surveyed and analysis on the policies of business process renovation as well as the significance of RosettaNet standards in promoting the renovation.
The final report was published in December 2003.
